In my talk, I will discuss the increasing demand for visualizations on wearable devices such as smartwatches. Because people use micro-visualizations on these devices “on the go,” for example, while exercising, we need to understand what they can perceive from the visualizations during short glances, in particular with the limited display space. Simulations can help to support people while exercising, for example, when performing physiotherapy, but running such simulations on wearable devices is challenging. Therefore, I will discuss the potential simulations have when combined with wearable devices. I end my talk with future challenges when designing micro-visualizations with simulations on wearable devices.
